I'm not sure if i should put this in themes section so if i am I'm sorry. I downloaded a today theme that has calendar and message area. Is there a way to keep messages in the area? They always go away when I read them and I would like to keep the most current messages there read and unread.

No, it will only keep the unread emails in this list.
