Do I need to unlock vendor themes to Install Theme?

I just bought a Blackberry 8900 yesterday and found this website last night, I read you can install 3rd party themes and saw a great one that I want! But I read something about vendor themes?? What is that?
I understand how to install 3rd party themes but read something about deleting vendor stuff before doing so, what is it and do I HAVE TO do that step in order to install a theme?? Or can I just install?

Theme that it comes with.
For example, if you have a T-Mobile Curve, it should have something like a 5-Faves thing on it by default.

It gets disabled to activate the new theme

Which means that after installing a 3rd party theme I wont be able to use the "stock" themes anymore? UNLESS I delete vendor thing?
Can I delete the vendor thing AFTER installing a new theme?
