Will the Javelin be VZ's answer to ATT's exclusive Bold offering?
Hi, I haven't seen this mentioned or asked here...
I know that the 9500 (Thunder) will be released first on VZ and the Bold is going to ATT till around the 2nd Quarter of 09 before other carriers have a chance... but is it possible that the Javelin will be VZ's answer to ATT's exclusive Bold until other carriers are able to get the Bold?
Anyone know if Javelin is going to VZ first or in what order VZ might get it?
Not sure if I want the Bold, Javelin or even the 9500 unit. Man, BB is making it really hard this time around... and so are the carriers.

Yep you're right, ATT is only getting it for a limited time, I was wrong.
Makes me wonder if VZ will get the Javelin... although, I'm not sure which one I would want...
Bold: 624MHz processor, 2 MP camera, 128 MB onboard memory
Javelin: 512 MHz Processor, 3.2 MP camera, 256 MB onboard memory
Question: Could one really notice the difference in speed between the two units?
I would also like the 3.2 MP camera as well. Decisions, decisions... although if VZ doesn't get the Javelin, it's all moot unless I defect to ATT.

It doesn't seem certain the future on VZW atleast. Hopefully we do get the Javelin. But then again the "touchscreen" phone is rumored for Verzion (which I won't get).

The Javelin is for the AT&T and T mobile networks. The Niagara is made for the sprint and Verizon networks. When and who picks up which one is any ones guess right now.

I find it hard to believe the Javelin and the Bold will go to AT&T. I would assume the Javelin would make its way to Verizon.

Well it doesn't really matter the technical name I think he things it won't be getting that model type at all.

What features want you to get the Javelin over the Bold?

The Javelin may never see its way to Verizon. Not even sure it may make its way to AT&T.

I'm pretty sure eventually every carrier will have the bold AND the Javelin. From what I've seen, the Javelin will replace the Curve, and the Bold will replace the 8800 series. I don't really thing the code names that RIM uses will have any real influence.
Again, that's just my 2 cents on the issue.I was a Treo user. Then the light of BlackBerry shone, and I was never the same. - 08-13-2008, 01:14 AM #16
Ok, this might be a dumb question, but here goes any way. I know that the Javelin (the GSM model) is not going to be 3G, but neither are the GSM Curves. Seeing as how the CDMA Curve already has EVDO, will the Niagara have EVDO? And, do we know if it will be rev 0 or rev A?
