Default Wierd icon on my home screen, help!!!

I'm a new blackberry user and i've had my curve 8900 for little over 2 weeks.
On my main home screen, not the main menu i have a little icon, like the ones you get when you get messages, except this is a circle with an arrow pointing down south/west and a little red/pink dot to the right of it. I've tried to explain it the best i can.

    It's really bugging me!!!

Anyone know what it could be?!

I half guessed that, but even if i go on the app world the little icon dosn't go & I can't see what i can do to get rid of it.
Sounds silly but i'm a perfectionist & it's annoying lol.

Go into your msg inbox and you will see the msgs saying there is an update. Delete the msg and the icons will be gone!
