White screen with OS 5 update
Hey everyone,
I have had my Blackberry curve 8900 for about three or four years now. It was run over and I recently bought new housing, new battery, and a new LCD screen. Everything was up and running; good to go, or so I thought. I went to go update my phone to the sticky placed at the top of the forum. It is an official update with AT&T blackberry OS 5. I used BBSAK to wipe my phone and to load the OS. Although the update process went smoothly and the phone completely rebooted, when the screen is inactive and fades out and I press a button to 'wake' the phone back up, I get a white screen. Nothing on it, just plain white. And my LED light still flashes up, but the buttons are inactive and the only way to 'wake up' the phone when the screen goes dark are the call, bb key, back key, and end buttons. I have been to the Blackberry website to look at different carriers with the Blackberry curve 8900 to see which OS 5 they had. I have loaded around two to three different ones and I keep getting the same results every time. If anyone knows how to fix please let me know.
Thanks,

I am assuming that that is for the mute and lock keys at the top of the phone. When I replaced the housing it did not come with a pad under the keys so they would 'click' down. It just has a hard plastic underneath so the buttons do not press down. I just hold down the star key to lock the keypad and then star call to unlock the phone. It works fine with my stock 4.6 os, but I get the white screen every time with any os 5 software I flash to the device.
