White screen

Hi guys and girls. First post hope someone can help me.

I have a white screen, I dropped my phone on the floor and the battery came out. When I put the battery back in the white screen appeared. Anything that I can do or is the phone knackered?

Same thing happened to me and I thought I'd buy a new lcd, but there are several different ones that cost close to what I'd paid for the 8900. I wasn't willing to throw down that cash, so I upgraded to the 9780. I do miss my 8900 though, it was perfect except no 3G. If you take apart your device there is a code on the back of the lcd, gently pry it off the motherboard to find it. Then search for that lcd.

It can be many things but it sound like a hardware issue... maybe the screen connection cable is out of the electronic panel inside, maybe something other on the device is now broken.. You can take your phone to a store that can fix cell phones.. or try to do it yourself - but it's a but risky if you don't know what you are doing..

Maybe it's the RIM gods telling you to get a new Blackberry

Anyway that sucks but all happens for the best.. so i wish you good luck with that issue.

Thanks for the reply guys. I am going to take it to a shop today, I really like my 8900.

It may well be the gods telling me something, because I did get offered a new phone by a company on Tuesday and rejected it as I still have 3 months left on my contract.

Will let you all know how I get on.
