water damage.. New phone
I notice that my BB8900 alarm wasnt going off the other day and started messing with the sound settings .... long story short my BB8900 got some kind of water damage and the speaker dont work..(phone does ring)
i cant have that.... pissed off i getting a replacement but its gonna cost 130 BUCKS money that i really dont want to spend buts its better than paying a new phone.. they said it cant be fixed i need to get a phone phone (insurance company)
Has anyone ever experience this?
p.s. i only had my phone for two months

Sorry to hear about it. Yes this does sound normal though, once you have water damage there really is no way to "fix" it. Unfortunately you will need a new phone.

my friend's bold fell in a puddle of water, she took the battery out and the sim card/memory card out and she put it in a bag of rice, left it for 24 hours and it worked like a charm!
...i've yet to try this .. but i hope i never have to feed my phone rice :P - 05-06-2009, 08:10 PM #4

That can't be right. Mine came red with a white stripe. She gave you misinformation. She's probably talking about the one that is on the actual battery.

On my battery the litmus paper is white withh a thick red stripe across the middle, but on the phone itself it is a little white square when you take out the battery. Look at your camera lens and it is almost directly below it
