Vodafone Mobile Connect on BB Curve 8900 in India
Hi All,
I have bought BB 8900 curve. This is my first BB phone so i dont know much abt it. I have vodafone mobile connect service activated on my phone from my company. I was using this service on my previous nokia phone but now the vodafone ppl say tht VMC service does not work on BB and i need to get BB services on the phone which is very expensive. I was browsing on internet and got to know tht u can use VMC service on BB also.
If anyone knows how to crack it pls help me throug it. I wanna use email and internet services on my BB through VMC.
Thanx in advance.

Blackberry's work through a Blackberry Server network... BIS: Blackberry Internet Service and BES: BlackBerry Enterprise Server... this is how you get Email and data to and from your Blackberry device... if you find a hack to get VMC to work, you will NOT be able to get your email to work the way it was intended... you might be able to find a Wifi email client to pull and push email, but the native app will not work... get a Blackberry Data Plan.
Here are some things you might want to look at:
Blackberry Lecture Series
and specifically: Lecture 2: BES and BIS: What's the Difference?
You can find the series under "Blackberry Help" at the top of every forum page. - 01-22-2010, 12:08 PM #3
They are very right, you dial 55666 from your mobile and talk to blackberry support. They will help you in most of the queries.
Although you can use Vodafone Live, that will work but will be chargeable as per use.
Thirdly, you can change settings of your browser to 'Hotspot browser' to have wifi browsing working.
Please do read those links patiently which fatboy have told.
Blackberry email/messengers only cost Rs.299 a month which I find very cheap. Although unlimited internet will cost Rs.1099/a month which I still find cheap... - 01-23-2010, 05:24 AM

Thanx to u both for ur help. But i already knew all this, my problem is that i get VMC service @Rs. 99 per month for unlimeted data and BB services are for Rs. 1000 per month. So the difference is a lot which is pinching me and moreover my boss has a iphone and he laso faced the same problem. But he managed to get a crack for it and now he uses VMC on his iphone which saves him Rs. 900 per month. I was looking for some similar solution for my BB. once i read somewhere that by tweaking some settings of the fone u can use internet through VMC.
Thanx & Regards,

You will need to get BIS from your carrier for that... the Blackberry data services will then work fine.
