Default Using Internet without BIS?

Hey guys, I've been paying £35 a month for my contract, which got me an N97 and full Internet. Now my N97 has packed in so I'm using an unlocked Curve 8900 at the moment. Only problem is, I don't have a Blackberry Data Plan. All I want to do is use the Internet and Facebook, I have no interest in using BBM, but all my Internet appears to go through the Blackberry Data Plan which I don't have and as such can't use . Is there any way that I could get the browser and Facebook apps to just use my Orange Internet that I pay for on my contract?

Cheers guys.

you need BIS to use facebook as it goes directly through the RIM servers
dont be cheap and pay for what you want to use.

you could try opera mini and use the facebook mobile site via WiFi, but what is about it.

also please search the forums, this question has been asked over 100 times....

Ok apologies, I've just got hold of it, unlocked it, removed company restrictions, so much hassle!

I'm not being cheap, I'm paying for Internet which I want to use via my phone bill, it's not my decision that Blackberry think that it should be routed through them, just to charge extra money.

It's not Blackberry who think you should be charged extra, it's your carrier. If you give them a call you may find you can remove your current "Internet" bolt on and replace it with a "Blackberry" bolt on - it's what I did when I moved to using a Blackberry - in the end it didn't cost me anything extra per month.

Ive been using a bold for about 3 months without BIS. Google "anworms service books" also there is a programme will access facebook without going through RIM. That said, it's much better to have blackberry data, the facebook client is a lot nicer, and generally things work better. Anworms method is a work around and at times its very noticable.
