Default Using Camera LED as flashlight...

Ok, I know I am not the only one who wishes that there is this feature where you can just use the Camera LED as flashlight.

I searched quite a bit and some say that RIM has no API etc. for this and so on and that it cannot be done.

My question is, how does the camera application and Video camera application able to turn it on and off?

There has to be a way. I am wondering if you guys found it...

It kills me to see a cheap Nokia phone and even other cheaper phones having a dedicated button for flashlight and an LED even simply for flashlight purpose!

All you have to do is go into video camera options and set the light to "on". Then whenever you open the video camera, the light will be on. It won't record anything unless you hit record. If you are going to use it a lot you can assign one of your side keys to open the video camera.

What he means is the spacebar is a shortcut to turn the light on and off while in the video camera app instead of having to go into the menu to do the same thing.
