Default unable to update OS!

Hello,

the OS on my 8900 is v5.0.0.681 (Bundle 1168, Platform 5.2.0.67)

I am being plagued with the issue of whatsapp causing any media on my device to stop working.

I read that this was fixed on a newer OS version, but I am unable to update, I have tried various methods available such as using the osloader and bbsak. I have downloaded the latest OS versions and installed them then tried to run bbsak to update, it goes through the process and tells me update successful yet my phone is still on the same OS.

Its a T-Mobile branded 8900 that I have unlocked as I use an O2 sim in it. Looking on the T-Mobile UK site there are no further updates available.

Is there anything I can do about this? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can download any 8900 OS and place it on your device. Just delete the vendor.xml file.

Ok, done a google search, this vendor.xml file is NOT located in the folder locations that where quoted, done a complete search of my C:\ and it does not exist on my computer at all. I have installed all the necessary BB programs, Blackberry desktop and also the Apploader is on my system, but still I cannot update. I have installed the Blackberry device software 5.0.0.1067 (Platform 5.2.0.96) on my computer but when I attempt to install it, it goes through the process, says its successful but when the phone boots up and i check in options>about...its still says I am on5.0.0.681 (Bundle 1168, Platform 5.2.0.67)

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
