Default Unable to log on to some wifi hotspots

Blackberry 8900

Hello All,

I travel a lot with work and can not afford to keep my data turned on while roaming. Luckily a lot of the places we stay at outside of England have free wifi so I usually log on to that and can then receive my emails and, more importantly, my BBM's.

However, if I am using wifi in a hotel there will be no pre shared key to enter, rather you must go to a web page and enter your room number and surname, and it is this page that I can not get to and I experience the following problem;

I get the reply - Signature check failed.

I have my browser configuration set to Hotspot Browser. I have tried changing the browser configuration through Firefox/Internet Explorer/Blackberry to no avail.

I really would love to resolve this if anyone has any ideas. It's awful suddenly being cut off from all my friends....

Thanks,

Mellfee

You posted it twice. Unable to log on to some wifi hotspots

Perhaps accidentally.

Perhaps....?

Well thanks for everyones ability to assume the worst of people. While I might be very keen to solve my issue I am not so stupid as to imagine posting a question multiple times would solve it any quicker. What a ridiculous assumption. Surely that would only serve to reduce the possibility of a solution.....!

If it has been posted twice then it certainly WAS by mistake, something I would have thought was obvious and something I imagine will be tidied by a moderator.

Now, back to the question please.....

You would be surprised at the number of users who post multiple threads exactly for the "purpose" of getting a "quicker" response. So, no, it would not be "obvious" that it was inadvertent.

If the sign in page is using Flash, then you might not be able to log in to those sites. The best and quickest solution would be to ask the hotel staff what settings are need to log in.

What happens if you use the regular browser setting instead of the Hotspot Browser?

Thanks for your help.

Using Browser rather than Hotspot appears to make no difference at all. After searching for a wireless network and choosing the hotel's, I get the wizard page stating "The network you are connected too appears to be a hotspot. Click wifi Hotspot login to continue."

Doing so brings up my browser but I will always get the same blank white screen with the reply 'Signature check failed'.
