Default UMA on non t-mobile 8900?

Would I be able to install UMA on an 8900 from Europe (Swisscom)? Swisscom does not use UMA.

no you will not.
you will need a TMO 8900 for UMA to work.

its the same for all... I can not use a Bell 9900 on Rogers and get UMA.

some have been able to finagle UMA to work, but its a pain in the ****, and you need a 8900 from TMO to work with to get it to work.,

This is incorrect.

I have my unlocked Rogers 8900 working with UMA on T-Mobile. I followed a guide on the forums here to get it working. The instructions are for the 9800, but it works just fine. I would post the link but I cannot due to my post count. However, if you search for "Guide to enable UMA on an unlocked 9800 for T-Mobile" you will find it.
