Default trackball/sensor problems?

Hi there
I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I have a BB Curve 8900.
My trackball stopped clicking.
I brought a new trackball and replaced it myself.
The trackball still wouldn't click.
So after searching around on the net and in this forum I saw that it was the dome bit on trackball sensor board that causes the trackball to click.
So I brought a new trackball sensor board and replaced that as well.
My trackball now clicks fine but it has caused me another problem.

Now I have the problem that the trackball wont scroll up and down properly.
It scrolls left and right fine.
When I try to scroll the trackball up it either doesn't scroll at all, it works very intermittently or even weirder it scrolls down.

Any ideas as to why this is happening as it is driving me insane and making my phone almost impossibe to use.

Try putting the phone facedown on a sheet of printerpaper and rub the paper with the berry.

the high speed spinning of the trackball sometimes forces the ball to clean off residue from the mechanism.

I have just tried that.
Still no change.
The trackball should be clean anyway as its brand new?
It's weird as when I am on facebook on my phone it seems to scroll up ok bu then when I go into my messages or calender or any of the menus thats when it seems to get stuck more?

I have exactly the same problem, the track would not scroll in the other direction or not at al, after replacing the trackball but it was partly solved when I reassembled the phone. The trackball still will not move the cussor up although I have not tried replacing the sensor yet. Have you had any luck since your last post ?

jezzy2011 - I ordered another official BB trackball (from a different place). Replaced the trackball again with this new trackball. The phone now works fine. There must have been something up with the first trackball I bought. I looked at the trackball and could not see anything myself but it is now working properly again after putting in another trackball so it's all good.

to get it to click, you may need to install a new trackball dome. i've replaced my trackball a number of times, and one time my dome fell out (i didn't know what it was) and it no longer clicked until i ordered some new ones.

here's a link to get them: 1 lot of 10pcs - BlackBerry OEM trackball dome - - Cellular Accessories | Mobile Accessories | Cell
*if i'm not allowed to submit the link, sorry*

the trackballs are domes are super cheap. my phone is a disaster. i usually end up changing my parts once every 2 months or so.

I found that when I was putting the 8900 back together if i overtightened the screws at the back (the middle set i think) the trackball behaved like this. Might be the just loosening them off a tiny bit will help...
