Default sim card reader tray broken but working!

I couldn't fit my sim into the 8900 phone. Took it to pieces and found a bent copper reader pin. Trying to straighten caused it to break. I now have only 5 of the original 6 pins touching the sim. The good news is that the phone seems to work.

2 questions please:-
  • is it easy to replace the reader? They are a few quid on ebay.
  • is it possible that some functionality may be compromised with 1 of the 6 failed pins

Many thanks for your continued support.

PS. Managed to upgrade from 4.6 to 5 OS yesterday (eventually). If anyone wants help let me know. It worked for me when I switched off wireless on the laptop to force Blackberry Desktop Software to read the OS on the laptop.
