Shows EN in top right corner whenever typing
So the other day I had the phone unlocked in my pocket and somehow I changed some settings so that FR appeared in the upper right corner while typing. Some how I set it to french so I went into options and switched it back to english for spell check. Now everytime I type anything it shows EN in top right corner. Its not a big deal but pretty annoying.
Anyone have this happen and know how to make it go away like before?

Yes, it has happened numerous times to user on this forum. The only way around it is to reload your OS and run the setup processes again, and unless you need other laugauges you really should remove them using Desktop Manager... this will prevent this from happening again in the future.
That and using your Standby button before you put your device in your pocket (that and b.u.t.t. dialing
)

Can't you just run the language setup wizard in the setup folder to set your language and then remove any additional ones?
Perhaps disabling quick selection in options > language would remove the language indicator.Last edited by zwood; 08-21-2009 at 09:19 AM.

Removing language in setup and disabling switching languages in options did not do the trick. I will tryto reload the OS after the weekend

There are three good sources for upgrading or reloading your OS...
First, BlackBerry 101: How to Install or Upgrade to a New RIM BlackBerry Operating System (OS)
Second, Proper Upgrade / Downgrade Procedure
Third, http://forums.crackberry.com/f100/ne...nguage-245615/
And if you run the complete setup routine on the device it should remove any other languages... it's always good to double check by using DM after the upgrade to see what is loaded on your device... by the way, I prefer using the App Loader.exe method of upgrading my OS.
