Default Second Thoughts on the 8900.

Most of you know that I just got my first BlackBerry a couple of days ago. Some rumors have been going around saying some new phones will be coming out for T-Mobile. I was wondering, if the BlackBerry 8900 is really worth keeping for 2 years.

Do you personally think that the 8900 will still be updated in 2 years?

I know that the BlackBerry 8320 for T-Mobile has been very popular. But will the 8900 follow in the same route? T-Mobile just dropped the prices, and I have no clue why they would do such a thing. Since the phone has been a great seller for T-Mobile.

I want to hear your thoughts on my issue!

    Thanks.

The reality is...there will always be a new phone coming out. I think the curve series in general is awesome.

And cell companies change prices constantly. Perhaps t-mo is running a special for a certain amount of time.

If you are happy with the 8900, keep it.

Amen... If you constantly chase the newest thing out there, you will never be happy. Learn to love your 8900 and I'm sure it will give you 2 years of amazing service.

Hmm, well if you decide to get another phone before 2 years you could sell your 8900 on eBay maybe.

But pretty much every Blackberry has had some level of popularity. I know some celebs have already been seen with the 8900 (if celebs being seen with a particular model is what you associate with popularity). So yea, I think its a pretty solid phone, all except for the lack of 3G. I'm looking to get one myself

    Good luck with your decision!

Even with new phones coming out soon, those will be archaic in no time as well. You can't stay ahead of technology.. so enjoy what you have for 2 years .. which isn't really that long as far as phones go..

To be honest the 8900 is the best Berry to ever hit the market on any carrier. Not even the coveted(but cheap looking) Bold looks as sleek and refined as the Curve series. Keep this phone as long as possible. I've tried the G1 and it still needs a lot of work. The 8900 is currently the best Blackberry on the market and none of the upcoming berries are worth the trouble of changing devices

In my opinion, if your phone does what you need it to, then it's perfect for you. I love my 8900. It offers me all the features I demand (I don't feel 'cheated' out of anything), and I got it for a stellar price, so overall just be happy with what you have, and when it passes on (or a good deal comes your way), then upgrade (again, only if you want to)

The carrier is making a great phone choice even better by lowering the price to keep it competitive with other manufactures products.

Odds are good they will be reducing stock levels, got to make some warehouse room for all those container loads of 8900.

The 8900 is a substantial improvement over the Curve. It has 4 times the memory, that makes a huge difference in the future upgrade potential.

Thanks everyone. I am thinking about staying with the 8900. I love how there is so many apps with it. There's a lot of customization for any BlackBerry.
