Searching old e mails

for some reason my new bb appears to only search back a couple of weeks only.

I have tried to change settings but cant.Pls can someone advise if/how i can change to allow searches over unlimited timescales ?

Go into your e-mail, then press "Menu" and select "General Options". Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Days to keep messages" and select "Forever".

It won't help you with what has already been deleted but it shouldn't delete any more. Of course, it'll fill up your phone memory eventually and you might have an issue due to that.
