re-assembly crisis

Hi and greetings from Wales.
I followed the instructions to replace the trackball and it works beautifully, but after re-assembling the phone, I had a part left over!!! Its a small black rubber piece that looks like a tiny magnifying glass and I think lives somewhere under the midplateX

The phone seems to be working ok without it, but I guess if it wasn't needed it wouldn't be there. Any help on relocating would be appreciated.

That is the piece that goes from the microphone to the hole in the bottom cover, best I can tell from the picture.
