Post Quick and easy question for the owners of the 8900

I plan on buying the 8900 but I'm curious about one tiny little thing...the top part of the phone in between the two buttons there is a speaker type thing...is that a slot of cell phone charms to attach to your phone or is it just an extra speaker?

remember, this is BB it's geared towards business orientated people.

And it's an speaker (facing down on the surface will allow sound to project through that speaker hole.)

remember, the speaker is in the back of the phone. NOT on top of it.

However, like the Bold, there is a place to put cellphone charms on. If you look at the top on the left side of the phone, there is a hole that the charm string goes through and loops inside the back of the phone. The Bold had a similar charm "socket" on the bottom.

My 8900 has only one hole where you are saying there is two. If you open the battery door then you can loop something, but who carries around a phone without a battery door just for a charm? Lol.

You do not have to keep the battery door removed to have a lanyard or charm in place.

I don't think that is what the hole is for. On my pear there is a hole on the back and the side for a lanyard. You don't have a second hole on the 8900 to loop it through. Nor a groove on the battery cover that would allow it to close flush with a lanyard in place.

The loop part of the lanyard goes through the hole and over the little hook on the inside above the screw. You do not have to make a knot with the lanyard. The hook inside holds the looped end of the lanyard in place. The battery door fits over it to hold it down. Sorry, I wish I had a good camera to explain better.

    This is true.

The hook is barely visible since its small and black but it's there.

I see it!!! I thought you would have to losen the screw to attach either a lanyard or a charm.
