I've had this blackberry since last summer. Few days ago, my phone started acting weird. Suddenly, after leaving my phone sitting for a few minutes, I tried accessing it by inputting my password and one of the keys was typing two characters. This happened for a few minutes until I was able to go through. I disabled my password to avoid this problem. Then, while being on the main home screen, I tried accessing my short cuts and none of the apps or directories would open. I can see the outline hoovering when I scroll, but when I click to select the item it will simply not open it. Now none of the keys do anything. I can scroll, the screen turns on as normal, but I just can't access anything on the phone, not even the full menu. Also, as soon as the screen goes black when not in use, I tried to use it and it doesn't turn on. I connect it to the charger and it turn on but again, I cannot select anything on the main screen.

I've tried removing the battery for even 24 hours and its still the same problem. Can anyone suggest a solution? Do I have reinstall the operating software? Can the software be corrupted?

Since BlackBerrys are wannatied for 2 years, i would take this one back to where it came from, smile and ask for a replacement.

Please do a Synchronization AND a Backup before you go.

You most definitely should be able to back up and synchronize through Blackberry Desktop Manager.
