| | Problems with my curve
Was using the phone today and tried using quickpull; well it finally reset but when it came back up, there were LOTS of new programs and icons in the Downloads folder as well as some other stuff.
I didnt click on any update link or anything. Anyone have something like this happen? A whole slew of icons appeared and they are not ones that I have ever used or downloaded, nor are they ones that came with the phone when it was new from AT&T a few weeks ago.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

those are normal AT&T carrier pushed junk by service books. just throw them into a folder and hide it. if you delete the icons, they will be pushed back again once you re-register. its normal to have them.

I dont think so. When I got this phone and pushed books from BIS they didnt show and never have before and I have run diagnostics and pushed books many times.
And why would these appear without my interaction?

Well its not I dont believe you or anything, its just not been my experience.
Since I have had this phone, when it was sent to me new from ATT, these have never been there.
So its ATT pushing, NOT the BIS, you say? or are they the same thing? How often do they push service books without input from me?
These icons or apps etc have never been on my phone in the past and I have never clicked on them in any way, ever.

BIS is, in your case, AT&T - so they are one in the same. What dictoresno is telling you is the answer you are looking for to the question you are asking. Hopefully you will just accept it and move on but if not, you are going to waste a lot of your time in trying to find another answer.

For anyone else who might be able to give a hand on this;
I have wiped the OS in the past and reinstalled and pushed books (several times) and these icons have never appeared; why would they appear now, over a month after owning the phone, having done the above? If they are pushed by ATT/BIS then did they just now add them to their service books?
Thanks in advance.

we are giving you the exact answer to your issue, yet you question it anyways. somehow, when your device was rebooted, the service books for the pushed carrier content was deleted. upon registering back on the network, it realized they werent there and resent them. its dont automatically everytime the device is rebooted/reregisters on the network. it compares what service books you have versus what you should have. whatever is missing, gets pushed.
the only other explaination is that you changed themes somehow, and what was once hidden, now became unhidden. could be a bug, but more than likely its service book related and you have no control over it.
again, put them into a folder called "junk" and then hide the folder. you will more than likely never see them again as long as you dont delete the service books for them.
if you still dont believe me, go to options>advanced>service books. you will see cute little check marks next to most if not all of those things.
aristile, thank you.

Thanks in advance. | jesus h christ. yea and when u reinstalled the OS, did you load a backup file? cuz if they were hidden before, the backup will keep them kidden. thats why you didnt notice them before. i told u, they have been pushed to my phone since new. im on a tmobile branded 8900. so once i thre my at&t sim in, i got all that crap pushed. maybe something was up with your device that they never came through before. it doesnt matter. who cares why it didnt before. theres no big secret, no conspiracy. just hide em and forget em. if they come back, rehide.
