Problem upgrading to OS .250
I seem to be having a problem updating my OS. I downloaded the most recent software release and install it with no problem on my computer. I deleted the vendor.xml file and then open the desktop manager. The only updates that come up are language supports for my bb. No instant update comes up. But after going to the apploader and searching for new software the update is there reading "4.6.1.378" with version .250 present. As well my current 4.6.1.114 is also there and reads current.... I select the new version and click next and after maybe 3 seconds later it takes me to the update summary page....
Im sorry for rambling but I just need some help or pointers. Thx - 06-27-2009, 06:30 PM #2
"There can be only ONE!!!!"... love that line.... anyways, there can be only one version of a Blackberry OS on your PC if you wish to upgrade... you can not have two versions loaded on you PC.

Got it done. ran it through the loader in the apploader folder.... runs smooth but i think i have a little of a delay when answering a call

Do a battery pull again... See if that fixes the issue. I've seen some talk about a delay, but not on my device.

After an upgrade, it's always a good idea to do a battery pull and let your device reboot.

Battery life is absolutely one of the reasons you should consider upgrading from .114. Before you do anything, read the upgrade procedure over a few times carefully until you are familiar and comfortable with each and every step. Once you get to this point, you can consider upgrading your device.

I took a look @ the procedure from your sig, its very helpful. I saw that it was written about a year ago but it seems like nothing major has changed since then right? Im still gettting used to my phone but I'm so glad there is a lot of support and input on here. thanks again!

Definitly take your time with the upgrade and do your research. All in all Im loving 250 right now. The battery life seems more than acceptible. But make sure to back up the phone. The only qualm is the delayed answering of calls, other than that I couldnt be happier

i hate to sound like such a noob but I have a couple more questions. will upgrading the OS to anything above .114 be considered voiding the warranty to tmobile? and I noticed that the .231 thread has a link to the OS on the BB website but is it meant only for ATT customers or can I use it also without any problems? thanks again for all your help
