EDIT: oops title should be sometimes i CAN hear, but sometimes i can't..

i just got the 8900 and it was working fine until saturday when i realized that when i answered a call, i couldn't hear anything. i asked my friends and apparently they couldn't hear me on the other end either. i found a way to get around that and it was by putting them on speaker.

then on sunday it miraculously worked again...all the way up until yesterday. same thing happened. then this morning i called a friend and it was working fine, but when i got off the phone to call another friend it didn't work again, but now it seems to be working.

this is quite an annoying problem so i'm wondering if anyone is having the same problem or how to fix it. thanks!

Sorry, but this is your first post, so I have to ask... did you do a Battery Pull... this is the way you reboot your device???

Battery Pull: Leave your device ON, pull the battery out for 20 seconds, put the battery back in and wait for it to boot up.

and if that doesnt work, it may be a bad speaker. it sounds like it may be a hardware issue more than a software one.
