I had a similar problem with my phone. I read in one of the threads about holding down the back key and keeping it pressed while phone rebooted. This worked for me and haven't had a problem since. All I can suggest is you give it a try. Hope it helps.

Let's make sure you are doing a battery pull correctly:

With the device powered ON, pull the battery out, leave it out for 20 seconds and then put it back in.

Also, how long are you waiting for the phone to go from the white screen with the loading timer to being fully restarted? It may take up to 10 minutes to completely reboot.

This has happened to me a few times, kinda weird and made me pretty nervous. No buttons respond, battery pull, then wait and keep fingers crossed

Pulling the battery out right. I get the white with the loading timer screen for a few secs and then it starts from black screen again...

I followed this and made some changes myself along the way

BlackBerry 101: How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com

I had a hard time at first, no matter what..everything went fine upto the point it showed "waiting for device initialization"...I would get a error message that it failed to update the software....I then decided to remove the battery, sim card along with the media card..I had software version .94 (Rogers) installed on my phone and laptop..so then I installed 250 (Rogers) on my laptop...and fired up AppLoader hooked my phone up with the USB cable....and noticed that my laptop detected a new deice (Blackberry Smartphone)..it did not get detectedby Windows before and the article does not even mention it..battery is still not inserted, only the phone and USB cable itself.I went ahead upto the point where it shows "waiting for device initialization"..and inserted my battery into the phone and again Windows popped up that it detected a new device..from there everything went fine..my phone was back alive..

I fired up the phone it worked fine but all my contacts and messages were deleted..I was almost going to cry..luckily found a backup copy on my laptop and got all my contacts back..

Btw Rogers sent me a replacement unit and I was about to return this unit the next day when all of a sudden this happened...
