Default OS Information required 8900 Curve

What is the latest OS in BlackBerry Curve 8900? And how can i check for its updates and how can i check what version of OS do i currently have in my device? I have a carrier-less phone and i think i have the default version of OS installed.

Thanks alot man. But there is a problem. I have a carrier less phone, and i'm from Pakistan. So far every download link leads me to RIM website and they require information that i can't fulfill. I mean they don't provide service in Pakistan, So can you please provide me with a free download link? That'd be really great man.

all u need to do to download from RIM site is to use some *random* info on the form that u need to fill out, except for the email part coz that needs to be valid.

You can find many versions for download.. search google for files.. make sure you delete the vendor.xml file when you install OS version from another carrier.

The OS I loved the most on my 8900 was a hybrid by JSL V7.0

The theme coupled with the speed boost made it feel like a whole new phone
