Default oh crap i think i just bricked my new 8900! help!

so i went into the desktop manager and transferred all my stuff over to the new 8900 and i restarted my phone after the prompt and it wont do anything at all. only the red light is slowly lighting and going out.....holy crap help! i havent even got to use it yet!

i think what i did instead of tranferring files is i did a restore from my old pearl onto the 8900, how do i fix it it wont even turn on?

eta ok i figured out what i did. in my idiocy i think i deleted all the software and everything off of the 8900 and loaded it with the pearl software since i used restore.....oh **** what do i do?

should i just take it back to the store?

i tried this BlackBerry 101: How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com and it told me i didnt have any system software.....

    Hi
Mine did that too!! Only way I could make it work was put my husbands battery in it and it started straight away! Then my battery would work too!

    Are you using DM 4.7?

People (myself included) have experienced issues transferring and upgrading the 8900 with DM4.7. I suggest for future work you lose 4.7 and download 4.6. Less chance of frustration.

You should immediately reinstall your correct device software and wipe the phone and reinstall the new software. Always use the switch device wizard to transfer between devices.

Make a backup and follow the guide you posted.

You are unlikely to have done any harm. BBs are pretty robust devices when it comes to ignoring software they don't like, and the DM is too energetic about rejecting it even when the upgrade is valid.
