No icons when keypad lock on
Hi, I'm new to this so please excuse me if I'm posting a thread that's already been addressed...
Last year I bought a Blackberry 8900, with O2, and loved it... had no problems at all with it... until last week when my son dropped it in his cup of milk.
So now I have a new one, very much the same except for some annoying little things it does. Main one being that when I lock the keypad, I can't see if I have any missed calls or messages... I have to unlock it and suddenly I see the icons. It's really annoying because I'm constantly having to unlock it to see if I've missed anthing during my meetings.
Please please help me.
Thanks in advance

This is a feature on the new OS 5 after build 5.0.6xxx (?) that the "lock" button will perform a keyboard lock as opposed to a security lock; a password lock.
If you search the CB forums, there are instructions to downgrade a OS; but it seems like a lot of work to do; alternatively you can get around this by getting the new BB Watch (inPulse)

Downgrade to OS 5.0.0.411 or earlier to get rid of this feature. The Lock/Standby feature was first introduced in OSes 5.0.0.5xx.
So if you go to options > about, the third line from the top will surely reads 5.0.0.5(something). Downgrade, and this feature will no longer excist. It will go back to Mute/Standby ; pressing and holding the mute button to put the BlackBerry into Standby Mode
