I'm not a fan of the word "snappier" because it is pretty much a meaningless word. It doesn't give anyone specifics to work with for a decision about whether this OS would be useful to them.

I will add my support to your observation about a minor increase in trackball response. I have noticed that today.

I am continuing to monitor battery drain and I continue to see a *small* decrease in battery performance as opposed to my former .250 OS.

Nor am I, that's why I qualified in the rest of my post. "Snappier" is the recurring word of the thread so I thought I'd reply in like form.

I hope the battery doesn't drain faster - that may well be a dealbreaker for me for this OS. I'll know tomorrow.....

Install an older version of the OS, THEN the newest version.

Oh, the OS juggling I had to do with my Pearl. Feh. Not fond memories.

After finally get my phone back working (thanks to RIM tech support) I have been playing around with .315 for a day now. The one big difference for me, coming from .231, is the boot time. It is less than half of what it was with the same apps. With .315 I am up and running in under a minute. With .231 I could practically have a meal while waiting for it to boot up. And I also agree about the trackball. I had to turn down the sensitivity. It was too "snappy" for me.

Exclamation Problem with Browser :(

Hello and thanks in advance for any info/help/guidance with my issue.

I noticed that when I open the browser via my wifi or on EDGE that the field that has a drop down list for google, wikipedia, etc is no longer available.

This is quite annoying and I after hours of messing around I still cant get this feature back.

Any advice is appreciated!

WOW! So I update to this OS and when I do the following happens:

I can browse the internet, Ubertwitter works

I can't access email, Facebook doesn't work, BlackBerry app store doesn't work, Yahoo IM and Google Talk doesn't work, they all tell me I need a data plan.

After 3 hours on the phone with AT&T we are doing a master re-set trying to fix the problem.

I had the same problem. After I called AT&T they quickly escalated it to RIM Tech Support. They ended up having to reestablish my PIN and send my service books to me. They were very helpful.

Nearly 8 hours into the issue it is resolved. Had to reinstall the OS, and do a hard reset, so all of my apps are gone. They also had to re-send the service books. RIM was very helpful. I do know that this will make me very hesitant to do any more OS upgrades. At least now I know how to correct the problem should it happen again.

Odd that you had such troubles. I've changed my OS multiple times and never really had any incidents. Some of the 3rd party apps need to be reset but other than that, it always goes well. This change was no exception. I was up and running and making phone calls within a hour after starting the install of my .315.

Installed yesterday, All of my apps work fine. Noticeably faster menus and scrolling, battery life took a hit very noticeable.
I don't know if it is possible but, I typically have 1-2 bars of signal strength in my kitchen, I now have 3-4 bars. I should have checked the actual dBm numbers.
So far so good.....Bring the 5.0
