Newbie, 1st post; issue with bbtraffic
Hi,
I'm a 3 week owner user of an 8900, with tmo as the carrier. I have only basic phone use in my background (verizon). I was really tired of the high bills, and what would have been even higher bills (and a new contract) if I had gone to a data plan with them, and a smartphone. So, off craigslist, I found a basically brand new 8900 without a scratch or mark on it. Days later, I also found and bought a same condition 9360. Everything on the 8900 feels and looks better to me, and even though it "only" has the 5.0 OS versus the 7 on the 9360; I have been using the 8900 solely. (being new to this this this, the 5.0 has seemed fine to me, even though I know the OS7 "does everything better) Yes, the trackball may not last, so far it has been fine although it does hurt when using it a lot. (I have even ordered a replacement ball and sensor pad in case/when either fail). So, that's the background. In the past few weeks, with lots of reading of the posts on this board, I have been able to set everything up; several email acct's, apps, themes, etc; and have been really pleased with everything. Now to my problem: I have been using BBTraffic (and now that it has voice guidance), think it's a really great program. No map, but it basically works perfect, and will get you there. EXCEPT, mine is off by like anywhere between 20-60 feet. It always knows what street I'm on, but it's always many feet off on my current location. I'll be entering the intersection, or have made turn already when it realizes it, and then quickly goes to the next direction. This is a small point, and I can manage with it as is; but is this normal, or am I missing some setting to have it more accurate? I have reset the unit GPS several times and it now shows accuracy at 1.3 meters, but this made no difference with the BBtraffic. Thanks for any help that can be provided; and even if not, it's great this forum is around, especially for us newbies.
