Please be aware that there are at least four newer builds of 8900 firmware (highest version numer is 4.6.1.101) and ALL of them contain HEAVY bugs. (Fatal Exception on boot, profiles do not work, browser does not display certain website,....)
If you get hands on one of those
DO NOT UPGRADE to anything between .76 and .101
.76 is the highest version without any mayor issues. - 12-05-2008, 08:33 AM

.76 is the highest version that was published by any carrier. I just thought it makes sense to clearly state that because there are many maniacs out there, how NEED to have the latest installed - even if those versions are betas from carrier or partner testing (known version are .85, .92, .96, .101)
originally TMO germany´s devices were installed with .85 and ready to ship when they found out that this version is buggy. All devices hat to be downgraded and taht caused a one week delay in device shipping.
The seal of be device box was renewd, I could even see the first seal which was opened and a second seal was put on top. - 12-05-2008, 10:18 AM

Good question. I couldn´t get hands on that version so far.
I bugs I noticed have been the same in the folowing versions
4.6.1.85
4.6.1.92
4.6.1.95
4.6.1.101
- fatal exception on boot --> profiles do not work (no ringtones..)
- browser does not diplay certain websites
- slow/no response for trackball when scrolling
Maybe .94 is okay, can´t tell, sorry. Rogers hasn´t released the package as download so far (checking daily). On the other hand I´m PRETTY sure that Rogers wouldnt shio the device if the OS is unstable. T-Mobile Germany shipping was delayed because they had to DOWNGRADE from .85 to .76 for that reason.
Currently I´m on .76 and I´m very pleased with stability and performance.Last edited by magikweis; 12-08-2008 at 09:02 AM.

Their is NO issues with the Rogers shipped .94, the only thing I came across and I'm not sure if it's a bug or not..bedside mode when the light goes out is not as dim as the Bold's, but I really believe this is on purpose or just an aspect of the device it's self.
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

You'll be fine Jimper. .94 is fine. Any bugs/problems will be taken care of before future release. Yes there have been a few, but its only certain builds. The Rogers 8900 works flawlessly.
