Issue with bb maps, bbtraffic and googlemap

I have a curve 8900 and using it on the Fido Network(Canada). The phone is an Ex-Rogers phone that has been unlocked. I have always had bbm and email data on the phone.

Now pretty much what happened is that the phone was crashing a bit often lately so i downloaded and reinstalled the latest OS. (using the OS from rogers)

Up until the recent re-install i've upgraded the os before with no issues but after this time BB Maps refuses to show up anymore or work(tried using the third party launcher). In addition googlemaps will no longer work and asks for a data plan and bb traffic will not work as it seems to be connected to bb maps.

Anyone else have a similar issue and found a fix to it...other then adding "browsing data".
