Default how do I figure out my OS. and where do I update it?

So when I hear that updates are needed or released, i typically think that it will update automaticially when I plug it in and activate my BB desktop. but the only update I notices was for sweedish, launguage support and 2 other ones I cant remember at this time.. can anyone advise?
This is my crackberry.com signature. I had a better one, but my lawnmower ate it.

Hold ALT and Shift and hit H.. That gives you info, including the OS.

you have to download the exe file. if you go to the main page of the 8900 forums, theres a stick at the very top that has the .168 os listed. Or just google/search Crackberry for the os download.
Search CB for "Newest 8900 OS: v4.6.1.168 (Multilanguage)"

All you would do then is install that and install. Follow the instructions given there.

I used the 168 sticky at the top of the 8900 forum and haven't had a problem yet. Battery life is waaay better now!
