Default Help, not recieving emails but can send

Hopefully this will be my last thread that I start that has to do with something that I do not know how to do.

With that said. My email on my BB. I can send emails but I can't receive them. I emailed myself from my phone and nothing showed up and not only that I haven't gotten anythign all day on my phone but it shows up on my computer. IS there a setting I have to screw with ? Any help would be great and you guys are a ton of help.

Re-send service books, check for any filters, check your account settings via gmail web based for correct pop/smtp. I recommend IMAP.

did this happen without any config changes on your side?
did your device take a recent update?

I don't mean to sound like a smart *** or a ****. But can you please explain to me what that means. I have no idea. I don't mean to be a pain.

I had this working when this phone was with a different carrier about a year ago or more. I just got back from afghanistan so its been a year since i've used this phone. As of now I'm updating my phone software etc... But I did have this phone working on another carrier and now I have a new carrier and I'm finding it to be a little painful.
