Default help needed asap! not turning on, blinking red LED

Can anyone help?
Me & my wife are currently away in the middle of nowhere, this morning we woke to her 8900 curve with a flashing red light and a black screen. I've tried removing the battery, sim card & memory card for up to an hour. The phone was fully charged last night and I've tried it plugged in today too. The phone won't come on, as soon as I put the battery in the LED blinks before I even press any buttons!

I've searched the best I can on my phone but cannot find a solution, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Same happenend to me, tried a batterypull and my phone was fully recharged the night before. I went to the dealer, and they replaced my unit the next day. I've read alot about this and it seems to be a common problem. Anyone have any DIY solution for this?

This issue cleary shows that back-up is imortant

backup wont do you any good when you're "currently away in the middle of nowhere" as the OP said he and his wife are.

yes, we have a laptop (with bb software) and cable with us, no net access though. the phone is over 28 days old so O2 refuse to help saying we need to go through bb who put you in a queue on the phone before cutting you off when you're number 2 in the queue (twice!)

Try sticking a pin in the reset hole and see if that helps?

OMG ... kellidocta that was absolutely terrible advice. I suggest you quit trying to *help* people on this forum if you are going to say crap like you just did. Thanks to you, that guy just ruined the microphone on his phone.

I believe you just need to get a replacement device at this point.
