Help! Blackberry mistery! No one can figure out whats wrong with my BB 8900!
This is a MUST for experts! NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP ME!!!!
Ill make it QUICK. BB8900, couple years old, worked PERFECT until 2 weeks ago, got it from my boss for free, no blocked anything, try to unlock it using MEP2 code, NOTHING! DOESNT EVEN MOVE DOWN THE COUNTER FROM 10 TRIES. Tried BBSAK, swiping it then installing new software, NOTHING. Installed new software without BBSAK and NOTHING, it just freezes once it says: CODE ACCEPTED. And when i reset its blocked like is was originally! Now, not even the original sim that was on it will work! Is there something Im missing? What can i do?
There is one thing ive noticed, people tell me if they upgrade the software to the att one, lastest for the 8900, deleting the vendor file should technically put blank screen at start up right? Instead i get the same MOVISTAR image... dont know if thats any help.
Can ANYONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Open Options->SIM and type MEPD. If it's unlocked the network will read inactive.
You can't change the splashscreen loading another OS. Any software that can has a higher likelyhood of killing the phone than changing that screen.WAPers do it With A Passion

Changes in startup Splash Screens is controlled by the Service Book Download once the device is unlocked and linked to your Carrier - call your Carrier and give them the IMEI and other device information requested and they push out a wireless Serevice Book update and the Carrier's Splashscreen will appear on the next power off and start up. I changed from T Mobile to AT&T and it worked for me this way.....

you mentioned you got it from your boss.. was it perhaps on a BES? If it was, you might have to do a little reserach on how to remove the files/settings left by the BES (sorry, im not sure how to do it, just read about it somewhere about old corporate fleet devices)
