Default Got my 8900 curve wet and now it won't turn on.

I dropped my phone down the toilet and I got out as much water as I could with some tissue. I took the Battery, SIM card and memory card out and once I had got as much water out as possible I put them back in. My phone still wouldn't turn on so about half an hour later I dried it out with a hair dyer and got most of the water out. A couple of hours later I took everything out again and put my phone in a bowl of rice. I then put my Battery, SIM card and Memory card back in two days later and now all it does is load on the blackberry loading page the turns off and the red light flashes and a light on the back flashes to, so I have left it and taken the battery, SIM card and Memory card out. Is there anything else I can do? If I can't fix it how much would I get for it?

Thank you

A similar thing happened to my Bold 9900.

I have seen a you tube video titled ''How to disassemble and save your Blackberry after water damage!''

I will be following these steps to get it up and running again. I am in the process of gathering the items needed at the moment.

If anyone has tried this, whatever the outcome. i'm sure the OP aswell as myself would like to hear from them.

Sorry no you tube link....on rubbish pc atm

lak611's link is very similar to that YT video in my previous post. I feel a little more confident in the method being an auspicious one.

op screwed up by taking the water out and turning the device on.and then using a hair drier to blow the water out.should have done the rice technique before any other procedure.its obvious why the device won't come back to life.get a new device now.

That happened to me so I took the battery memory card and sim out and put it on the radiator without the back on and turn it over periodically and shook it towards the floor and it worked again I'd try that

Water immersion is the worst ememy of electronics and while it may resume working temporarily one can never ultimateley rely on it as you might with a "new" device s- my recommendation is get a new device and this time , buy the insurance to avoid any futher related financial losses.
