Default google maps 4.4 on 8900

i have an 8900 with OS 4.6.1.250. i recently upgraded google maps from 3.2 to 4.4. the upgraded version doesn't load at all and crashes all the time. i am not sure if this is something to do with OS as 3.2 worked perfectly well. can someone help please?

    thanks

Yeah, I don't know either. I have had the same problem. I could kick myself for not reading up on it before upgrading. Drives me crazy.

    Default Google Maps

Unfortunately Google Maps v4.4 is optimized for OS 5.0 or higher. i had to find out about this first hand and it fixed right away after upgrading to 5.0. also keep in mind that 4.4 ONLY works with a data plan from BIS and no longer works over WIFI only. The app can run over wifi BUT requires a BIS anyways.

actually it didn't work even after i upgraded to OS 5 - so i then restored the default settings for google maps and then started either 'allowing' or 'denying' access. it's a breeze now.
