Factory Restart

I have a simple question for all you smart people. I tried to find my own answers with other topics, but didnt find a question that directly answered it.

While ago, I was messing around on the laptop while the blackberry was hooked up. I must of did something because now when I hook them up to one another. The blackberry crashes the laptop. Now the blackberry runs a little slow. It has a little freezing problem. When you are sending a new text to someone. You type the first letter of they're name. You get that list of everyone. That list never goes away. Its little things like that. It makes it harder to do the simplest things.

I'm not even sure where my cable to hook it up to the laptop anymore. Which is fine for now. My questions for you guys and gals. I'm doing to do a hard restart/factory restart. Put it back to where it was when I got it.

I'm pretty sure i read the right forums and it told me how. It's in the phone's settings.

Before I do this. As everyone is more experience with this phone then i am. Is there anything I should do before i do that? Something I might be over looking.

I do have a paid theme that i'd like to back up, but i cant seem to back it up on anything. I'm not sure how to back it up. Or does At&t have it record and i download it again for free? or is it something I have to pay for again if i cant figure out how to back it up.

reboot your computer and pull the battery on the phone. it just seems like both could use it.

then after both are booted up, plug the phone into the computer. then open DM. then backup the phone.

you shouldnt have to do a full wipe unless the phone is really messed up. a simple battery pull usually fixes a slow and laggy phone.

Well, I tried what you said. It didnt work like I wanted it to.

I did the hard reset and the back up didnt work like I wanted to. I had to pay for my theme again, but it was on sale so its no big deal. Just a few bucks.

However; I got 2 new problems. I'm trying to remember how I figured them out the last time. I moved since i got the cell phone and lost the book some place so i'm coming threw the forums looking for the answers.

On the default settings. They icons show up, but on my theme they are not. Before i did the hard reset, I had them on there so I know i can do it.

They will seem like the easiest of things but for some reason i cant figure it out. The "call log" icon isnt showing, and the "yahoo mail" icon isnt as well.

maybe try to see if certain icons are hidden. hit the menu button and check "show all".

That's what i thought at first. It's not there.

I dont understand it to be honest. Before I did the hard start. It was there. On the default themes its there, but not on the current one i use (dark warrior).

I've been fooling around with it for hours now. I got the email icon working though. I deleted my email account on it and added the same one. The icon isnt yahoo, but hopefully that will change at some point. ....The little things bug me like that.

I did figure out if i hit "alt" and then the "menu" button. It opens a multi-task window that has the call log in it. So i can get to it. I just cant get the icon in the man menu system. I dont like it but its better then not having it at all. Maybe I'll figure it out over time, or someone else will read this and have a new idea for it.
