e-mail not pushing
I set up my e-mail account which is a gmail account with the blackberry mail app that comes with the phone. I also set it up with BIS. I sent a test e-mail to myself from my computer and nothing was pushed. Its been 10 min. I also have the GMail app and only that has been working. I get my e-mail fine.
Does the GMail app have the push functionality like the regular mail app? Cause sometimes it pushes instantly and other times it doesnt. - 06-14-2009, 08:04 PM #2
You definitely do not need your email plus the gmail app on your device. When you set up your gmail account did you receive an activation email telling you that your gmail account was activated successfully? If so, it will take 20-30 minutes to start getting emails. If not, do it again or go to your carrier website and access your BIS from there.

yea i did it again. I got the e-mail on my device saying activated and it will take 20 min. I will uninstall the GMail app since maybe thats allowing it to confuse it.

im sorry for being impatient and i should be. Its just that i was trying to get this e-mail working all day long. The bb should tell you that it could take hours. It does seem to be working now so lets hope it stays that way.
No i havnt used the Blackberry Messenger. Is that the program with the PIN? because no i havnt used it. I dont know how to use the PIN Messenger. - 06-15-2009, 10:55 AM #9
You can find your PIN by holding down the ALT + Right Shift + H
And the Blackberry 101 lessons are great here on CB... you can find them on every Forum page under the "Blackberry Help" menu at the top of every page... plus here is the specific one you are looking for: Lecture 8: How To Use BlackBerry Messenger | CrackBerry.com - 06-15-2009, 11:32 AM

ok so basically the blackberry messenger is used to talk to other people that have blackberries. Kinda like aim.

Ya, that's a good summary... it also just goes through Blackberry servers to do the talking... therefore, both the person sending and the person receiving the Blackberry Messenger messages MUST have a data plan (that's not always the case and we don't want to assume someone has a data plan just because they have a BB).
