As many reviewers have pointed out the lower right USB location was an unfortunate choice. If you are right-handed and want to use the phone while it's charging, it is difficult. | Oh. That's how it is with the pearl flip about not easily plugging in... I think it with the microUSB ports too. My RAZR 2 did the same as well.
as for using it while charging, there's always the use of a Bluetooth headset.

To all the people who received the 8900 can you please comment on how loud the speaker is? Are the ringers loud?
Thanks

Honestly, I don't know why the 8900 would have a microUSB...it's not as common as miniUSB.
If I were you, I'd get a charging dock. Mine should be here by early next week. You can charge and sync (and maybe tether, I will experiment!) with it and no microUSB to deal with. | That reminds me of a good question: Does the OEM BB desktop charging cradle for the 8900 use the miniUSB or microUSB?

Similar to a cordless phone in your house.

The desktop cradles usually are powered by the charger so should be micro-USB to match everything else for the 8900 - would be surprised if it was mini0USB because then you would have to buy another charger or adapter to use the cradle.
