i have been doing some research and i am wondering if it is possible to combine a Blackberry Tour and the Blackberry Curve 8900. My reason for this is that I have an old 8330 and love how the keyboard keys are separate, and my girlfriend has the tour which is awesome but i hate how the buttons on the keyboard are touching. I would love to have the 8900 but i use sprint and that is definetly not going to happen. So i have been doing some research and am wondering if anyone thinks this will work; Disassemble a tour and put the "guts" of it into an 8900 housing?

Because of the layout of the housing i couldnt just put a 8900 keyboard into the tour and have the tour housing fit back on. But the screw placements on both phones are in the same position (based on pictures). 1. Are the "guts" of the tour and the 8900 the same? im not talking about its capabilities IE which one has wifi, or 3g, etc... im just refering to the aesthetics of the two devices. The batteries used in both phones are the exact same so at least that verifies some dimensional similarities, also the location of the sim card slot and sd card are in the same location. so are the guts the same size?

I am confident that this might work and that the advertised dimensions of the devices are different due to the housing perhaps? I am just wondering on some other peoples input. The layout for the side buttons, earphone jack, charging jack all appear to be in the same position once you strip down both devices

I dont own a tour yet so i cant try it, and i dont want to buy the tour if i cant have the button layout of the 8900 on it. The only real difference in the location of the housing is the location of the flash for the camera, which wouldnt bother me. The keyboard is the key compenent. Any thoughts on this?



Would anyone be willing to take measurements of their 8900 "guts" when it is out of the housing so i can see if it is the same as a tour?
