Default Best OS for 8900? (stock or hybrid...)

What's the best OS to run on the 8900?

A buddy of mine is getting an 8900 without a data plan just to use for texting and maybe bbm if rogers has a good plan that will allow that...

So I wanna set him up with a good solid OS. What factory or Hybrid OS would you guys recommend?
Something stable and decently quick for pics bbm texting etc. Doesn't need all the fancy features since he won't have a data plan.

    Discuss.

    Cheers

Factory OS is better. OS 5 on the 8900! I've had OS5 on my 8900 for quite some time now and I'm still enjoying it. It's fast and it's great. Especially when I only use texts and BBM on the 8900.
BlackBerry is my phone of choice. No other phone gives me the same experience that BlackBerry does .

Good to know. Every other bb I've had the hybrids are always a bit better than the factory OS (except the 9900)

I was still leaning towards a hybrid for some of the newer OS features and was curious about the JSL hybrids. Thanks guys
