BES Curve Wireless Update
I have a work BB and its running old software. Can I "safely" click the wireless update button on the BB and update the software? Or is there a chance i screw something up and my BB wont work anymore with our IT policies/etc?

Can not tell what provider you have... most providers do not have wireless update capabilities with the 8900.
You are always better off doing a complete backup using DM before doing any OS update... your best bet and my recommendation is to do it on a PC... this way you can select what OS version you want to install on your device. - 09-19-2009, 08:57 AM #3
If you are on BES you should check with your IT department first. Upgrading your OS while outside the firewall will likely disable your Enterprise access and require them to activate you again. Activating you is not a big deal, but unless you have 24 x 7 support, you may not be able to get it done before Monday and you'll lose your work email access until then.

There are no wireless updates yet for the 8900 as mentioned. Most competent bes admins have disabled the option anyway via policy.
