Default battery not lasting

I'm really dissapointed with the battery life on my 8900. It needs charging every night,
if I forget to charge it by lunchtime the following day it will give up.
Now my 8310 that I used to have could go for upto 2 days without charge and I'm not
Doing anything different.
Is this a common problem with 8900?

Apologies if this has already been posted but as you can see I'm a newbie.

Hold down the menu button and see what applications are running. Unless there's any you particulary like, go to the ones apart from the following, open them, use the menu to close/exit them, instead of pressing back. I find that with a lot of background applications running, the phone loses battery much quicker.

Messages, Phone, Blackberry Messenger, Browser and Home are the five applications that will always be running - the others can be closed.

But I do have the same issue as you, yes. I charge mine up every other night if I'm lucky.

Thanks for that, forgot about all the background apps. So got them all closed,
got bluetooth off and I only turn on wifi when I need it, hopefully it should last a bit longer.
