Default Battery Draining (Please Read)

Hello all,

I did extensive research on why my 8900 is draining its battery faster than normal... Many of them always say it's because of Background apps or the Wifi.

Now, I do remember the days when my BB lasted more than a day, eventually it lasts half a day... and then now it only lasts for 5 hours at least.

There are NO background apps running, and my wifi is turned off.

Still the same result.

Do you guys think it's because the battery itself is worn out or faulty? Should I invest into a new one?

Thanks.

I am quite surprised to see that I received no response for several days.

If you are still using the battery that was supplied with the handset new, it's time to replace it.

Just a couple of months ago I had to replace mine and my wife's batteries.

Also, if you haven't actually pulled the battery out of the phone and put it back in, you should try that, as often times that will correct the draining issue if the battery is not faulty.

How old is the battery?

I had to replace the battery in my 9000 after 15 months of heavy use. The battery life suddenly dropped off. I went from being able to get about 12 hours of use to only about 3 hours. My battery also felt overly hot to the touch, but I did not see any bulging or swelling. When I got a new battery, it was back to normal.

The battery definitely needs to be replaced! You can purchase several places, found good ones on eBay but be careful! Safer bets are here on Crackberry or similar!
