Default anyway to put 8900 on without the battery

Hi

I have a blackberry 8900 which had dropped in water some time back. I tried putting it on the other day but found the battery had bloated. Now I don't mind buying a new battery but I want to confirm he phone is working fine before I do so. Is there any way to turn the phone on without the battery because I tried charging the bloated battery but the charging screen opens without actually charging the battery.

No there isn't, you need a battery.

I have bought a few extra batteries from Amazon.com: BlackBerry DX-1 Original Li-Ion Battery for BlackBerry Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Storm 9500 9530 and Storm2 9550: Cell Phones & Accessories four and a half bucks to your door isn't so bad...

Exactly...

I got the same battery from them a few months ago, except for it was from their eBay store and it's been great for a five dollar battery!

thePruneDanish items - Get great deals on Electronics Mobile, OEM Battery's items on eBay Stores!

They don't currently have the DX-1 on ebay, so the Amazon deal is the way to go!

Start up your desktop manager then plug in your bb via usb..in a couple mins desktop manager should give you a warning that it cannot communicate with the device, bb will have the red light come on for a couple sec's, desktop manager will give you an option to upgrade but atleast by then you'll know the phone does somewhat function then atleast you can buy the 5 dollar batt..

I recommend the vendor Cell Lounge, Inc thru Amazon, the batteries I've ordered from them have all been the real deal. I've ended up with remans/repros/fakes from a couple of vendors. BlackBerry D-X1 Battery for BlackBerry Storm 9500, 9530:Amazon:Cell Phones & Accessories
