Default 8900 + WATER = Keys not working ... Is there a fix ?

Ok So I came from the gym with my 8900 in the pocket, the phone was a little wet and stick so I decided to wipe it with a wet towel and PSHHHHH... the keyboard stopped working. I panicked and removed the battery and inserted it again. The keyboard still didn't work.

I managed to take a backup and then put the blackberry wth the battery in rice and leave it out in indirect sunlight for 36hrs. Bloody thing still doesn't work. Is there a fix ?

I can scroll, the bb lights up when I remove it from the holster, It recognizes my sim and stuff. But I can't click with the scroll wheel or type anything. Physical buttons don't seem to function at all.

sorry, but that title is just too awesome
sounds like a formula, almost like:

BlackBerry + no battery = BlackBerry not working
: P

i'd suggest you take the phone to a shop and have an expert take a look at it

Exact same thing has happened to me and my phone works EXACTLY like yours. Scroll works but physical key presses don't. Screen works fine etc.

I was really hoping for a home remedy to this because I can just imagine high street phone shops charging silly money to fix it

I had the same problem with my Curve, even though no apparent water damage but it was raining for last 4 5 days in my city so humidity or some thing but it just made my BB keyboard stopped working. I took batery out, tried rice thing kept it unused for 3 days but nothing worked.

This morning I took my sisters hair drayed and drayed my BB for 15 minutes and hurrah its working like charm now not sure for how long but its working fine now so this may work for u as well
