Default 8900 Track Ball not working!

    Hello,
Hopefully one of you guys and gals can help me out on a problem i am experiencing. I have a blackberry 8900 which i bought a while back, the trackball has stopped working on it. I have bought a new trackball and replaced it however this has still not solved the problem. I have tried many things i have seen online, booting in safe mode, rebooting the os ect.

Still not working so i am guessing it is something else but i dnt no what. The phone is not under warranty so it is going to be a repair job sadly.

Any help anyone can provide would be a great help!

    Kind Regards
    Steve

I had an 9000 and due to this problem I bought a 9900.

(as I searched for "how to replace..." and found out that on 9000 to replacing the ball-sensor-thing you have to take almost everything apart of the 9000)

Did you replaced the trackball or the sensors/ "cage" around it too?

I replaced my 8300 for 10 bucks once as this was very easy with that device and there was the trackball incl. the "cage" around it ... in this case I don't remember that there were contacts which I had t connect. Perhabs on the 8900 it is?

(sorry for the "cage" but I'm too lazy to look for the correct name of it in english )

the 8900 trackball has a replaceable sensor that it rests on. if u can get that sorted the trackball should start working again

I think that getting yourself a new Blackberry is the best solution... the time and pain you waste on making it fixed... it's worth more then just paying for a new device... you can find some nice Blackberry phones here at the marketplace forum.

well to get the trackball repaired whether its not working at all or 1 direction not working or click not working, u have to get it replaced, i got it replaced on my 8900 abt 3 days ago, but 1 problem im facing now is phone restarts on its own, although repair was done in front of me and nothing else was touched :S
