    Default 8900 review on WSJ

This is the first mainstream media review I have encountered. I find it funny how she harps on how little memory the 8900 has.

To be honest, I looked at most of the 8900 reviews, and the Crackberry ones are the best by far. The other ones all seem to harp on one thing too long, and completely neglect other things that would be nice to know, for example the mechanical autofocus.

You've got to appreciate the reviewer's premise that we all would want a touchscreen if only we weren't so addicted to physical keys. I, for one, am not swayed by the "new cool thing." G1 was OK to play around with, but by the end of day 2 I knew I was returning it.

Anyway, there are a bunch of omissions of what really sets the 8900 apart. For example, no mention of additional channels on EDGE that give it a faster data connection...

    A BlackBerry That's Easy on Your Thumbs - WSJ.com

    Nice find, thanks for sharing.
I think the review was half-a$$ed but oh well. Everyone on the forums tends to say they can't get good battery life he seems to be ok. And yes, stop harping on the 256MB internal, give a reference point, such as "all previous BB models had much less and still functioned".

Thanks for the link. I agree that review was just blah. Some of the negative points were just flat out misinformation and they clearly really didn't know what they were talking about some of the time. It really wasn't that helpful but instead more of a press release type thing.

Yea, its everyone's opinion or what they think they ought to tell everyone. seems like another attempt to write about something important to draw more web traffic. Instead of doing it the right way to bring the correct information to the curious consumer.

He says that it doesn't have a completely overhauled OS, but it obviously does the same one as the Bold and similar to the Storm. Seriously some people are just not mean for reviewing things.

Read the whole thing, this guy is overly critical, not to metion that the Blackberry should be measured with a Windows Mobile phone as both do business functions nor a Itoy. What kind of a retard takes pictures without a storage card?
